Your questions answered
What Canvas do you use?Our artists use traditional canvas which is coated with gesso (a covering that helps the oil paints bind to the canvas).
What types of frames do you use?Our canvas frames are handmade from kiln dried fir, each individually crafted to your canvas specifications. Our stretcher frames are 1.5" (4cm) deep.
Are your Canvases ready to hang?Canvases come ready to hang and if you don't have hangers at home you can purchase a canvas hanger kit during order checkout so you can display your work of art as soon as it is delivered.
Do you offer a rolled service?Yes we do offer a rolled service. The canvas will be rolled and sent to you, without being stretched. Having your canvas sent rolled reduces our standard prices by 25%.
Image and Service
Can I requests changes to the image from the beginning?Absolutely. There is a notes section during the ordering process where you can specify any changes you would like. We can easily remove / change items in the background but please note that we can't add in parts of people/animals that are not visible on the photo. For example if a handbag is covering someones hand and you would like the handbag removed (so just the hand is visible) we would be unable to do this as we do not have any reference in the photo to get the hand painted correctly.
What type of style of painting will be carried out on the photo? All of our paintings are completed in a realistic style.
Is there additional costs for touch ups?Just as long as the alterations are not sigificant then there will often be no extra charge.
What File Types do you accept? Our website can accept the jpeg file format, which is the quickest and easier way to order. If you do have another format, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your canvas requirements.
What is the maximum file size you can receive? The maximum file size that we can receive is 30mb. If you have an image which is larger, please use a website such as yousendit.com to send the files to us.
Scanning information. If you have your own scanner, you can scan your own images in. When you scan photos in it is best to have the resolution (DPI) set to 300. Once the image is scanned please save it down as a high quality jpeg. All you need to then do is upload the image via our online order process.
Can you work from original photos? We can work from original photos. All you need to do is to send the photos to our office, we will scan them in and clean them up for you free of charge. The photos will then be returned along with your painting. If you would like your photo returned earlier please include a self addressed, stamped hard-backed envelope so we can post them back to you.
If you could also include a note telling us what canvas requirements you have, as well as your contact details.

What is the smallest photo size you can work from?Detail is very important when painting from a photo. We have worked from small photos but there is only so much detail we can paint from them. Where possible we suggest sending us the largest / clearest image you have. If in any doubt simply email us the image and we can let you know whether it would work well or not.
What payment types do you accept? We accept all major credit cards Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro and Solo. We do not current accept American Express.
We also accept Paypal and Google Checkout.
Is the deposit refundable if I decide not to proceed with the order? When you order you pay 20% of the total painting price as a deposit. We understand that purchasing art can be daunting when you have not seen the final painting so once the painting is complete (about 4-5 weeks after your order) we will send you some photos of it. You can then request alterations and we will continue to update the painting until it is perfect for you. Once you are 100% happy you pay the remaining 80% balance and we send you your painting. Completing a painting takes a significant amount of time and as such we do not refund the deposit payment, we do though guarantee to work with you for as long as it takes to get the painting right so we hope that this would never be a problem.
Where do you deliver to?We deliver stretched canvases to the UK and Ireland. Due to the delicate nature of paintings on canvas we unfortunately do not deliver to any other locations.

How do I know when my canvas has been sent to me?As standard we will post your canvas within 4-5 weeks of receiving an order. You will receive an email from us when your painting has been dispatched with tracking details.
Does someone have to be in at the delivery address? As your painting will arrive by courier we do require that someone is there to sign for the parcel so sometimes it may be useful to give us your work address or a friends address if you are not likely to be about during the day.
If you are not in the courier firm will attempt delivery again the following day. After this attempt the canvases are returned to us and we will charge an additional postage fee to resend the canvas back to you.
